does anyone else do this....tape paint samples to the wall and then leave them there for a few months? Just asking.........

Sewing.....

I love to sew! Johnny gave me this sewing machine 30 years ago and it is still running like a charm. I used to sew little dresses for our daughter Jacquelyn all of the time. She would only wear dresses so it was just so much fun making cute little outfits. I also used to make all of the kids Halloween costumes which was always fun. But then they got older, involved in sports and life just got too busy to sew.

So the other day I decided to sew something other than pillows and curtains! It's been a long time......and I even had to look up some sewing terms as I had forgot!

In my garden.....

I walked around my flower gardens yesterday to capture what was starting to bloom........so I thought I would share!

My climbing roses have 4 opened blooms and tons of buds!

These are begonias coming up from last year......which I don't even understand as begonias are annuals. They were so pretty last year and bloomed all summer that I decided I would plant a lot of them this year. When I went to work up the soil in this small flower bed, this is what I found....nice!

as you can see, my peonies are full of big buds almost ready to burst open! I love when they bloom as they are one of my favorites. All 3 peony bushes are like this.

here are my lily of the valley. I love them...they are just so dainty. And they really multiply.......so if you are looking to fill up an area, you can't go wrong with them. They spread so much each year that I dig a lot up and give away to friends.

Lambs ear.....will be so beautiful when it gets it's purple flowers.

this is another that spreads like crazy!

An old basket that sits in the middle of my flower garden...filled with different perennials.

My hydrangea are coming out nicely this year. I hope I get lots of blooms!

My iris' all standing tall ready to open soon.......

New to our garden this year......Clematis

I'm going to train it to go up this post that holds a bird feeder. I can't really feed the birds with this one as the squirrels eat it all up in one day!

So there ya go.....that's what is coming up in my garden right now.

Duh...me.......

say it together.....a little fast........duh me....duhme....dummy!

I'm pretty tech savy. I can usually trouble shoot most pc problems, got my blog up and running with no help, work on a computer all day at work and have to use some different systems...no problem. And with all of this knowledge, I still did something pretty dumb!

When people comment on my blog the comment also shows up in my yahoo email. So when I read the comments folks leave, I email back to them. I thank folks for the comments, I may say something about their blog and I may ask them a question. So I always wondered why I never heard back from folks. And then one day I was replying to a comment that Traci left and I noticed her email...you know, the email I was sending my comments to. well duh....me.......her email was "no_reply comments"! Turns out......everyone I have been replying to is also no_reply comments!! I really felt dumb......and wonder how many people think I'm rude for never emailing......

In the future, I will be paying a little more attention.......

Here's my question..........

A. Is it ok to go against everything my wonderful southern mother taught me and wear white pants before Memorial Day?

B. That's so old school.....you can wear white anytime (even though true southern gals might whisper about you behind your back....BUT, they will include "Bless her heart")!

More old silver.....

I'm still coming across old silver that belonged to my MIL. I'm not sure about this piece. It was so black when I found it.....and I can't believe I didn't take a pic of that! Anyway, it cleaned up pretty good.....has some scratches and just a couple of "pit" marks.

I have it just sitting in the middle of the dining room table......and it just looks so pretty there.

here you can see a little of the black....and look at the dainty legs on it.

I really do not know if this is sterling or just silver plated. It's a beautiful piece though.

Easter....

Let's start with a picture of my little buddy Maddox...

My parents have 7 grandchildren....when you include husbands and boyfriends, then we have 11.

Almost since the 1st grandchild was born, we have had Easter egg hunts at my parents house. But they are all grown now.......the 2 youngest in high school. But they have mentioned over the years how much they miss the egg hunts. So we decided this year to not only have a hunt for the great grandchildren, but to also have one for the grown grandchildren! And what fun it was!

We all hid the eggs around our backyard. And including just throwing a bunch all around so there would be a free for all.

So here they all are.......eager to go! We told them they had to stay on the deck until everyone was out. And then it was a race to see who could find the most eggs. And each person also had an egg hidden with their name on it that contained money. So if you came across anyone's egg, you had to leave it but you could cover it up some more!

and then it was crazy.........and funny! I was laughing so hard watching these grown folks racing around, knocking into each other and hiding the others "name eggs".

we had a grand time on Sunday.......all 27 of us for dinner and it was just so much fun. All of the grown grandchildren have agreed that this is a new Easter tradition of us!

Tired....

Here I am again.....so tired that I feel like I can cry! Once before I did 2 photo shoots in one day and it wore me out. I swore I would never do that again. Well, I did it again! And now I'm paying the price....these poor knees of mine are not happy! It was a beautiful day........I would guess it was about 81 today! So I took some pictures around the park as I waited for one of the families to show up........

here's a closeup of a wisteria vine. it's so interesting looking how it's all twisted and knotted.

I like to set my camera down on the ground and not even look through it and snap the pic............just to see how it comes out.

the wisteria is just starting to come into bloom...and smells so fragant!

this tree is as knotted up as that wisteria vine!

I was trying to get a good pic of Maddox sitting in the flowers but he was more interested in playing with a stick!
