Blog anniversary .....

10 years ago today I wrote my first blog post

to be honest, I didn't know a whole lot about what I was doing

But I had started following some blogs that were just

regular people like me

talking about life, family, decorating, vacations, flowers

recipes, grandchildren, work

So I thought wouldn't that be a great idea to just document

my life and one day when I leave this earth, my children,

grandchildren and generations to come will have

a source of reference on our family life and me

I have a small little diary that my great grandmother wrote

in daily. It's not a lot of content, mostly the weather...haha

visiting people, canning, gardening but it is a glimpse 

into her life and I savor and love every word I read

So my hope is my family will do the same.

I'm not as good about posting, I blame Facebook

but I try to keep up

we are heading into a fun summer with the wedding

and a couple of vacations so hopefully I can keep up!!

Been MIA....

I really blame Facebook for my being such a 

slacker with my blog.

I don't usually sit down in the evening until about 7:30 or so

and then I have to catch up on FB then Instagram

and then because I get up at the butt crack of dawn

I go to bed! haha...

So let me just do some quick catch ups

and maybe try to blog a little more going forward

January wasn't too exciting. I really wanted to try for 15 Jazzercise

classes but I came down with bronchitis so I only got 

in 10 classes. But that's still good

We had a pretty decent snow on Jan 7th

light and fluffy, Johnny used the left blower to blow the 

snow off of our cars, funny

Jacquelyn and Bucky live in our neighborhood so they

walked over for some fun in the snow

February came and again I thought maybe I could do good with Jazzercise classes....omg, only 4 classes! To my defense, 9 vacation days and then I came down with something, cold, allergies, who knows, we are having crazy weather.

We had a fun vacation in Ft Lauderdale

with Tommy and Joanne, Kim and Chris and some of their family

what a fantastic time

Ft Lauderdale is a crazy and wild place

I'll do some other blog post on those with a few pictures

The day after we returned we had our sweet Bella Boo's

eye surgery scheduled. Had her at the vet

at 7:30 that morning and was able to go get her later

that afternoon. She did really well with it and was so 

good about not messing with her eye she did not have

to wear the cone on her neck. Which was a good thing because

when I put it on her, she froze....would not move an inch

I love how our other 2 Teddy Bears stayed close with her

she was on pain pills for a week so not very active so they

def knew something was not right 

And now it's March!!

going to be a great month

Our grandson Declan will turn 4

we are going down to the Outer Banks for all of the St Patricks

festivities, then we will go to the Irish Festival here in Richmond

And it's MY birthday month!!

So I need to be really really good and blog all about it.

Sucking on blogging.....

I have been so slack, pretty much all year on blogging

Blog anniversary ....

today is my blogs anniversary

my very first post was on

June 2, 2007

wow!

I have written 1,246 blog post!

wow

I talk about the beach a lot, my family, new things I buy,

new recipes I try, exercise, my home

just my life

I've grown older

and I think I'll just keep on posting

later.....

It's October!!!

I have been horrible about blogging

I just looked and I did one post in August

and one post in September! wow, this is supposed to be my

family journal and I'm not staying on top of it at all

And I faced the fact that the number one reason is....

FACEBOOK!! Haha.....I just spend so much time on it

that I have ignored my blog.

So here's what I did .....

yep, I deactivated my account!!

I spent too much time on it, the politics were driving me crazy,

the lost dogs and sad puppy pictures were so depressing

and just so many other things so I decided to go back to blogging

And it's been wonderful

I'm crocheting a blanket for the new baby instead

of wondering who was doing what or going where.....haha

Am I the only person that sometimes does crazy things

I got to work and look what was in my pocketbook.....

our house phone!!! 

And now that I have given up the life sucker that is called Facebook,

I'm reading, crocheting, working on covering a chair....just

doing things instead of staring at a screen!

Blogging ....

I can't believe how long I have gone without blogging

the good news is I've just been busy having fun

the bad news is I've just been busy having fun and I haven't

been documenting our family memories!!

 

I also blame Microsoft. My laptop has Windows 8 and I absolutely

cannot stand it!! So I just don't get on my laptop much

therefore, just don't blog!!

 

 

So I'm going to try really hard to set aside time each weekend

to blog about what is going on in our life.

Blogging ....

I hope to do a bunch of blog post soon

I've been neglecting this little blog of mine

Our daughter and son-in-law have been staying with us while some

work was being done on their house

 so we've just been soaking up a bunch of good quality time with them

and now this evening, they are in the hospital awaiting the

arrival of their son, Declan Liam, our grandson!!

little Irish lad...

Blogging....

Sometimes coming up with blog topics is hard

Often I find myself trying to figure out what to blog about

and other times I can make a long list with all kinds of topics

this is my 6th year of blogging......

I looked at my stats and below are my number

of post for each year. Apparently in 2009 I had

a lot to say!!

2007 first year of blogging 80 post..but I didn't start the blog until June

2008 - 168 post

2009 - 192 post

2010 - 160 post

2011 - 181 post

2012 - so far 62 post....

as always, I have to keep in mind that this blog is for

my family. Its a family journal that one day my grandkids or

great grandkids will enjoy reading.

So I hope I can continue to come up with some interesting

stuff for them!
