but I hate, well, that's a bad word......I loathe......well, I just don't like yard sales!! We had a yard sale one time and I swore I would never have another one. People come like a hour before the sale and they don't want to give you anything for your stuff. I swear, if you put 10 cent on something they would say......."hey, I'll give you a nickel for it". And then if you just try to outsmart them and say it's a $20 item so you put $30 on the item so you can go down in the price...well, these people, these people who never want to give you anything for your stuff, well, they will say......."hey, I'll give you $15 for it".
So what did we do.......we had another yard sale. I didn't want to but Johnny boy did......and I just asked him, will you ever do another?
and he said........."I've never worked so hard to give away so much stuff. And no, not as long as I'm alive".
later........

Ditto here! Ours wasn't so bad, or maybe we just needed so desperately to get rid of so many things... but it was too much work. Ever since, salvation army, St. Vincent De Paul, Good Will... any charity will do. And you can deduct from taxes :)
I hate them, hate them, hate them! It is a crazy amount of work for nothing!
I just get the salvation army or any other charity that leaves one of those flyers that says they'll pick up on a certain day and then take the deduction with the IRS. Much, much easier! And no stupid people to deal with!
Or else? There's always eBay or Craig's List! People actually are willing to spend money on your stuff there! :)
Agreed - The only great one I ever had was when I had a ton of baby stuff and I made mucho dinero.
LOL!!! I like to occasionally find good deals at them and I've had a few in my lifetime. But they are just about TOO much work to just get rid of crap (when I can just as easily call the local thrift store and have them pick it all up). :-)
Oh how I hear you! Such hard work and we usually just donate it all anymore.
Thank you for visiting me and I have really enjoyed being here!! LOVE your blog! May I link to it??
Your doggies are adorable!!
