Tuesday....

and I'm home sick! I can't even believe it

last night was fine, cooked dinner, did the treadmill then all of a sudden a headache and within 20 min or so my body started aching, throat swelled, nose stopped up. When they say "hit you like a brick wall".....this was def it.

so I'm home today and just laying around in the recliner.

but on a good note.....working out at the gym with Johnny is going GREAT and I have lost 4 lbs....Johnny boy has lost 7. This should be a gym night but guess I'll skip that and hopefully will feel well enough to at least do the treadmill. I don't want to lose my momentum.

what to post...

I don't know that I have anything to really post about ....let's see......

This feels good.....Johnny and I working out together at the gym. I'm really feeling good about this. Already after just a week and a half, my back is feeling so much better. For years and years, I have had to do my simple back stretching exercise just to get out of bed. I have not had to do those for the past few mornings....very cool.

This feels weird....Nicole and Maddox are moving out April 15th. Really, this is very good....I need to live the experience of having my grandson visit me, not live with me. It's time for it to be just Johnny and I and it's time for Nicole to make a home for her and Maddox. So just a lot of mixed up feelings as we will miss our little guy so much.

This worries me.....you know blogging is so funny. You don't "really" know the people whose blogs you follow but yet you do know them. And with me, I just feel like they are my friends that I'm checking up on. So it's quite upsetting to know that this family http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ is going through some very bad times. Please pray for little Stellan in his struggles.

This worries me too...my 401k.... but we won't talk about that. We'll only hope that the Dow will do good and my retirement will again be something I can actually do!!

And then the really good.......my pearls! Johnny boy gave me pearls for my birthday and they are awesome. I've been wanting some for awhile but hadn't mentioned them too much but he remembered......I think with a hint from Jacquelyn but still, he got them!! Such a wonderful man. And damn, I'm sure looking old but oh well, it happens to all of us!

It's my birthday weekend.....

Not just Sunday, but the whole weekend is my birthday......

and it starts tomorrow as I go out shopping for whatever I want

and then on Sunday when Johnny boy takes me to buy my new camera case

and again on Sunday when Johnny boy and the kids take me to Maggianos for my birthday dinner.

I love birthdays and I love presents!

And I'm turning 53 and proud of it!

Working out....

Johnny boy and I have joined a local gym around here, American Family.......and we're going to get back in shape.

we did orientation on Sunday, learned the cardio equipment last night and tonight went through our weights routine.

Our plan is to work out every other night and after I start feeling "broken" in, I'll take some yoga classes. We may go some nights in between and do cardio.

I think it's going to be good......might kill me, but it'll be good...haha!!

and I'm soooooo enjoying the NCAA tournament. Hated that VCU lost but they had an awesome season, should be very proud.
I'm still good in the brackets....

Tonight's the night........

that I begin to lose sleep.......ahhhh, the NCAA tournament!!

Our beloved VCU Rams will play UCLA tonight at 9:50!

I have all of my brackets filled out....I only went with a few upsets.

Picture taking.....

I went to the camera store today to print up some pictures.
I had 6 empty frames on the kitchen hutch so I went through my recent photos.
Wanted to get pics to represent all of us
guess what....there are no pics of me
pretty much...none!
oh yeah.....there's the one of my back as I'm cooking....and one of me vaccuming.
that's about it..

I guess since I'm always the one with the camera, then there's really no pics of the picture taker!

do you find that true at your house?

time to get rid of the no smoking weight once and for all

I've tried and tried and I know I'm just kidding myself......you have to exercise to get it off....damn it!

so we joined the gym last night.
we meet with the trainer on Sunday evening to come up with our plan.

Painted furniture.......

I have never attempted to paint any furniture but my foyer table was a light oak...a throw back from my days of "country" decorating. I'm more into a traditional/contempory style now. So I wanted a black table in the foyer. I had found one I wanted but thought I would attempt to paint this one...hence save some moola. And worse case, if it looked bad, I would then go buy the table I liked. Well, I think it turned out great! I'm so pleased with how it looks and how very easy it was......hmmm, wonder what else I can find to paint!

Another chance at the dance........

VCU Rams won last night....they ARE the CAA Champions!
and they ARE going to the big dance!
will find out on Sunday night who they will play in the NCAA tournament.......

Vacation almost over....

we are back from Atlanta and it's back to work on Wed.
I almost wish I had taken the entire week off but I think I would rather save vacation days for warmer weather.

It took us 8 1/2 hours to drive to Atlanta last week.
It took us 12 hours to drive back on Monday.
Apparently, South Carolina doesn't know anything about snow removal
We saw beautiful snow from Atlanta all the way up to Richmond.
and it's just beautiful here.
I'm glad I didn't miss the snow totally! Especially since I've been waiting all winter for it.
