We're back.......

Back from the beach, back from vacation world...........and I really don't like it! I just have too much fun down in the Outer Banks. I mean, who wouldn't..........Johnny and I really know how to have a true vacation! We don't do the touristy stuff.........we sleep late, go out for breakfast, ride around in the convertible, hit up happy hours, lounge on the beach or at the pool.......seriously, every day we do that!! I did not cook for 8 days.......woot woot!!

I'm going to post a bunch of pics over the course of the next few days. For all of my internet friends that have never been to the Outer Banks of NC, I just want you to get a feel for the place. Then maybe next summer, you'll try it out! I don't think there could be a person alive that could visit there and not love it.

I'm leaving....

for the beach tomorrow!! We thought we would not get to leave until Sunday afternoon but things at Johnny boy's work changed so we are able to leave tomorrow when he finishes up at 3:00!

That means......8 DAYS AT THE BEACH!! Can ya tell I'm excited!!

So I have mentioned this many times before but here goes again.........Johnny and I started vacationing in the Outer Banks the year before we married....that's 31 years ago. And there was not much down here back then.......only a hand full of restaurants. You couldn't even buy a mixed drink down there! If you had your bottle, they would mix it for you. haha.....

If you have never been to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, you really should try it....so worth the trip from wherever you ar!

Not many hotels and the ones they did have weren't all that great. But the draw was the beach. It's just beautiful and it's not crowded...even now, as it has become built up and more and more people come there, it's still not crowded. Or at least doesn't ever feel crowded. It's just the best place on earth. So we continued to vacation there every single year........for 31 years! We used to rent beach houses when the kids were young, then they got a little older and I guess wanted a little more action so we started staying at the Ocean Reef which is all suites. And they loved it there so that is where we stayed for 11 years.

Then the kids grew up, Johnny's sister bought a oceanfront condo so we just started going there and that's what we do now. We did rent a large house last year as family came from Va, Texas and Georgia.

And so now it will be just us, relaxing.......watching movies, swimming, lounging on the beach, eating lots of seafood and just enjoying the time away from work! And here's a pic from last year....

Monday....

I have a few things on my mind...........

• I'm very excited about going to the beach for a week......leaving on Sunday
• Burglars, don't even think about it. There will be dogs and adult kids there!
• I worry about N Korea and the crazy people that are in charge over there
• I wonder why you do things for people and think you are doing good and right, but yet, they don't really care!
• It makes me mad how the media controls what people think about celebrities. Or maybe it makes me mad how people let the media control what they think about celebrities.
• To the Weather Moose........yes, it's hot up in Virginia! But we do have some good days where deck sitting is rather enjoyable.
• I hate my cell phone......I thought it was awesome when I bought it but now I realize that it's just a mini computer and it freezes up just like computers do!
• I wish my hair would STOP turning gray
• I'm very excited about going to the beach....ummm.......yeah, I really am!!

It's Saturday....

And Johnny is home from work....woot woot! He pretty much works 7 days a week so to have him home is the best!

I would like to give a big thanks and shout out to Holly, Connie, Mallory, Traci, Amber, Julie, Karen, Nancy and Lilligirl......for the encouraging words on my weightloss. When people do that, it helps. So thanks!!

And about that Oct 2001 all day concert.........to Karen, Yolanda, Mallory, Nancy and Lilly....yes, it was an awesome show......one I will never forget!
